Minister of State - Pat Breen

Pat Breen T.D. was appointed Minister for Employment and Small Business on the 19th May 2016.


On 20th June 2017 Taoiseach Leo Varadkar appointed him Minister of State with special responsibility for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection serving across the Department of Enterprise and Innovation, the Department of Employment and Employment Affairs and Social Protection, the Department of the Taoiseach, and the Department of Justice and Equality.

Political Career:       

Pat was first elected to Dáil Éireann in 2002 and was successfully re-elected in 2007 and 2011.  He served as Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade from 22nd June 2011 to 3rd February 2016. 

Prior to Pat’s election to Dáil Éireann, he was a member of Clare County Council from June 1999 to 2002.
