The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection is the delighted to be confirmed the overall winner of the 2019 Ireland eGovernment Awards. The Department won the Ireland eGovernment General Award as well as the Ireland eGovernment Overall Winner award for MyGovID. The Department also won the Ireland eGovernment Health & Medical Award for WelfarePartners.
 
The eGovernment Awards, sponsored by eir and Cisco, were presented by Minister of State at the Department of Education, Mary Mitchell O'Connor TD at a ceremony in City Hall, Dublin on 11 September.

MyGovID (www.mygovid.ie) is a single account that lets people access government services online in a safe and secure manner. There are over 1,100,000 accounts set up on MyGovID which are used to access services on MyWelfare, JobsIreland, Revenue myAccount, SUSI grants, National Driver Licence Service (NDLS), Voter.ie, and AgFood.ie, with more to follow. The judges recognised MyGovID as a major building block in connecting government services, and a critical component of the eGovernment Strategy 2017-2020.

WelfarePartners (www.welfarepartners.ie) is a digital service for business partners of the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. This currently includes services to Community Employment schemes as well as dentists, opticians, and audiologists providing Treatment Benefit services. The judges recognised the contribution to connected Government and the innovative use of the Revenue ROS digital certificate to authenticate users on WelfarePartners.
